Darren Anderton says Spurs must ‘respect’ Kane’s wishes to leave

Tottenham must honor Harry Kane’s desire to leave the club this summer, according to Darren Anderton.

After failing to win a trophy with his boyhood club, the forward has informed Spurs of his plans to leave north London at the end of the season.

In an interview with Gary Neville, Kane, who has 220 goals in 335 games, expressed his desperation to win silverware. And, according to Tottenham legend Anderton, the forward should be given the opportunity to do so.

‘We’ve arrived at the point where you have to give him credit,’ he said. He’s never gotten into any trouble, he always gives his all, and he’s in a different class on every level.’ If he does make that choice, you must regard it and wish him well.

Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been connected with the England captain, whereas Real Madrid and PSG are also said to be interested.

While Spurs fans want their star player to stay, Kane has acknowledged that a ‘crossroads moment’ is coming this summer – and that there’s an opportunity Daniel Levy and company will be happy to let him go.
‘I don’t know, I suppose, he might need to sell me,’ Kane said in a SkyBet’s The Overlap interview with his former England coach Neville.

“If I could get £100 million for you, why not?” he might be thinking. Are you aware of what I’m talking about? For the next two to three years, I’m not going to be worth it.’

Kane was quick to praise Levy and insist that they have always had a positive relationship when asked how he thinks the tough discussion with him will go this summer.
